The parking lot in the Marina will receive a ADA accessible walkway from the pedestrian bridge, across the parking lot, in front of the Marina and over to Burd Street. This project is expected to start in the next two weeks and is expected to take 3 weeks to complete. It will include new lighting, landscaping and amenities.

Nyack Broadway Sidewalk Project
The sidewalk reconstruction project is in full swing on South Broadway, between Depew Ave and Cedar Hill. Crews are working as quickly as possible. However, “discoveries” along the way have impacted the project. From sidewalk excavation to a full new sidewalk is approximately a two week turn-around. All stores and businesses on South Broadway are open and accessible!
New Kayak Storage in the Marina

This season, Nyack wants to get you out on the water!
Over the winter, the village officials and Nyack Mayor Don Hammond worked closely with the Nyack Parks Commission and a newly formed Kayak Committee to relocate the kayak storage racks closer to the water, and to expand capacity by adding a new set of racks that can hold up to eight kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or small sailboats such as Sunfish.
The new rack wouldn’t have been possible without the support and contributions made by Rockland BOCES and its students. For the project, the village coordinated with Michael Mark from the Nyack School Board, BOCES COO Amy Albers, and Principal Eric Kurz, to have students take on the construction as part of a school project. Thank you to all involved in the project!
“These efforts over the past few months in our revitalized marina are consistent with Nyack’s master plan for the waterfront, which is to encourage and facilitate better access to the waterfront, especially by those using non-powered watercraft,” says Jim Willcox, chairman of the Nyack Parks Commission. “Before we began this effort, we reached out to all the stakeholders in the marina to determine what best fit all their needs, and formed a committee to discuss the various options.”
For the past few years, demand for kayak storage space has exceeded capacity; as a result, there’s been a wait-list for those who’d like to keep kayaks or canoes in the marina. Thanks to the new racks, there are now several open rack spaces available for seasonal rental. And, for the first time, there are a few slots large enough to accommodate small sailboats.
Those interested in securing rack space this season should contact Village Hall at 845-358-0548 ext. 283.
