Parking at the Nyack Marina/Memorial Park Lot
Beginning June 1, 2021 the Marina & Memorial Park Lot in the Village of Nyack will be metered. Hours of metering are consistent with the rest of the village: 10am – 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Sundays and holidays are always free! Payment can be made at any of the three munimeters that will be installed or on the ParkMobile App.
ParkMobile is making it even easier to pay without the app by texting “Park” to number provided on the signs or by scanning the Q-code and following prompts. These options are being piloted in the Marina Lot and if successful, we will expand to all parking areas.
Water main replacement/pavement in Nyack
There is a lot of infrastructure work underway in the village this year. Thank you to our residents for your patience and cooperation with road closures, construction crews and detours!
The Nyack Water Department is replacing water mains on select roads. Paving plans are in the progress to follow the work of the water department! The roads require time to settle, so expect paving to occur after an appropriate time has passed.
The Pedestrian Safety Improvement Plan is underway at four intersections in the village. This project will enhance pedestrian safety with ADA compliant crosswalks, pedestrian signals, improved traffic light timing and more. It was funded entirely by the NYSDOT with a budget of $370,000. Work is scheduled to be completed by early summer.

The Habit of Giving

At Habitat for Humanity of Rockland County, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support.
Since the beginning of our Nonprofit Organization, we’ve worked hard to take care of ALL members of our community. It is important to note that our focus is more than just about building safe, affordable homes for hardworking, low-income families – it’s also about revitalizing neighborhoods.
Homeownership is one of the strongest building blocks toward developing strong, connected communities. This is a common goal for individuals and corporations alike – and one which Rockland County would benefit from partnering to achieve.
We can all certainly agree… It’s a different world we live in since COVID-19 entered our lives. One thing that remains constant is the need for building homes, neighborhoods, and communities.
On May 26, we are hosting our first virtual fundraiser, Raise the Roof. The event will feature honoree Frances Pratt, who served as president of the Nyack NAACP for 40-years and was the first African American nurse to head the Nyack Hospital ER. Other interviewees include Sr. Marie Buckley, founder of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, as well as Habitat volunteers and families whose lives have changed because of Habitat’s efforts – and the donations that made it possible.
Benefits of Partnering
- Acknowledgement during the Raise the Roof event
- Recognition across our newsletters, website, and various social media outlets
- Satisfaction in knowing that you are helping to forever change a family’s life
- Being part of revitalization of a local community
- Opportunity for your company to get involved through “build days”, where up to 10 employees per day can volunteer at a build site
