Orangetown offers clubs, discounts to seniors

Are you 60 or older? Looking to do fun things? Hang out with people who are around your age? Why not join one of Orangetown’s Senior Clubs? We have 7 in Orangetown – Blauvelt/Orangeburg, Nyack, Pearl River “A”, Pearl River “B”, Piermont, Sparkill and Tappan.

ALSO – as a Senior Citizen, are you aware that Orangetown offers senior citizens’ discount card? Many merchants in Rockland County offer discounts. The card may also be used if you travel since many motels, restaurants and tourist attractions offer discounts to seniors.
Stop into Town Hall and pick up your card today or call Carmel Reilly at (845) 359-5100 x 2288 to find out what is needed to obtain your card.
BONUS (on top of everything else) – if you have cable TV, let them know you are a senior so you can obtain a discount.  And please call your garbage hauler, because they offer discounts as well to our Senior Citizens.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Do you have a passion for helping people? Do you understand insurance, and are you knowledgeable about Medicare? We’d love to have you on board!

Volunteer responsibilities may include:

  • Answering/returning department-related phone calls
  • Data entry and filing
  • Mailings
  • Outreach appointments
  • Running Part D lists & options using www.Medicare.gov
  • Scheduling appointments
