Nyack, NY – Nyack’s fall season is in full swing with a packed calendar of events and family-friendly activities running through the fall season. Highlights are below, with details on the Visit Nyack website at visitnyack.org.
“Although the pandemic is not entirely in the rearview mirror, the village has come back strong,” said Roger Cohen, President, Nyack Chamber of Commerce. “Signature events are once again on the agenda – including street fairs and yes, the amazing Halloween Parade.”
“We’re proud to say that Nyack has emerged from two very tough years stronger than ever,” said Cohen. “We’ve added more new businesses than the number we lost. Above all, we’re excited to get back to what Nyack is all about – enjoying life.”
Events: A Nyack ‘Sampler’
Events in Nyack are emblematic of the community’s rich and ever-changing landscape. Here’s a sampler:
More is…more.
Good things come in small packages, so the saying goes. That’s certainly true of Nyack. The village packs over a hundred businesses and a rich array of recreational, entertainment and cultural opportunities into just over one walkable square mile. So it’s easy to combine events with shopping, dining, or recreation in a day trip or whatever a weekend itinerary might require.
Here’s a quick drone’s-eye view:
Enjoy life. Enjoy Nyack.
Nyack’s fall program is an invitation to experience a unique blend of memory-making experiences in a jazzy little Hudson River town – just 25 miles north of New York City.
“We’re especially pleased to welcome new endeavors like the Phoenix Festival,” said Nyack Mayor Don Hammond. “For many visitors, Nyack events open the door to Rockland County’s rich array of attractions and community life. We welcome everyone to enjoy everything the county has to offer, come back to enjoy more — and possibly make Rockland their home.”
Nyack events are supported by Nyack businesses, the Village of Nyack, the Nyack Chamber of Commerce, Nyack Merchants United, the Antique Art, Craft & Antique Dealer’s Association of Nyack (ACADA), Visit Nyack, Inc. and Rockland County’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism.
Notably, Visit Nyack has been a leading recipient of tourism grants since the county, along with NY State, began the tourism program in 2014.
“The county is pleased to continue investing in Nyack’s marketing programs and events that reach communities beyond our borders,” said Lucy Redzeposki, Director of Economic Development and Tourism.
“An invitation to Nyack is an invitation to Rockland,” added Redzeposki, “Our many unique villages are rich in history, culture, shopping, dining, river recreation and all the special experiences that make treasured memories for our residents and the thousands of visitors who come to Rockland looking for something special.”

University to Honor CCA Hudson Valley Executive Director Alan Seidman and the Beckerle Family of Beckerle Lumber
Orangeburg, NY – Dominican University New York will honor Alan Seidman, Executive Director, Construction Contractors Association (CCA) of the Hudson Valley, and the Beckerle Family of Beckerle Lumber Supply Co. at the 49th Annual Grand Reception. The event takes place on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at the Old Tappan Manor in Tappan, NJ.
The honorees were chosen for their outstanding professional leadership, community involvement, and philanthropic works.
Seidman is Executive Director of the CCA of the Hudson Valley, as well as the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Association of Southeastern NY. As a lifelong Hudson Valley resident, he has been involved in many community activities. He is a past Chair of the Orange County Legislature and Past President of Temple Beth Jacob in Newburgh. All Violations Will Be Resolved By October 30, 2022
New City, NY – Rockland County and the owners of the Country Village Towers Apartment Complex in Spring Valley report that they have reached a resolution of their dispute. By way of background, the County after assuming oversight of the Village of Spring Valley Code Enforcement functions charged the owners and managers of the Country Village Towers including Village Towers Corp., NBM Management, LLC, and Weinreb Management, LLC., owned by Jacob Weinreb, with numerous alleged violations of the NYS Uniform Code. During the course of the ensuing hearing the parties were able to reach a resolution of the remaining alleged violations. Many of the open violations have been cured and under the settlement, the buildings’ owners will cure all remaining violations and pay a fine of $25,000.00.
The lawsuit challenged the administrative court Rockland County uses to prosecute fire and building code violations and determine the fines issued against property owners. Administrative tribunals are utilized statewide to expedite the legal process compared to the traditional court system and are used by the Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Environmental Conservation, and many other state agencies.
OBC will conduct follow-up inspections to confirm any outstanding violations have been cured.
“We are working with ownership parties, including Weinreb Management, LLC to resolve any outstanding issues and they have diligently responded to the Notice of Violations. We’re pleased that we were able to reach a resolution of this matter and ensure continued compliance with health and safety measures, including the Uniform Code within the borders of the Village of Spring Valley,” said Thomas E. Humbach, County Attorney.
“We’ve said countless times that compliance is our number one priority,” said Ed Markunas, Director of Office of Buildings and Codes. “Reaching this agreement is a positive step forward in achieving that on behalf of the health and safety of residents, visitors and first responders.”
The Office requests that the public submit complaints regarding Building and Code violations within the Village of Spring Valley to 845-364-3700 or by email to BuildingsAndCodes@co.rockland.ny.us.
