PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Stony Point Town Board has set a Special Meeting for Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 4:15p.m at Stony Point Town Hall, 74 E. Main Street, Stony Point, New York for the purpose of meeting, discussing, and authorizing the time sensitive Town’s undertaking to fund the sewer system improvements project, as required in order to complete the Town’s application to obtain the Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA), Grant and any other business that may lawfully come before the board.

STARFEST XIII to take place September 18th

On Sunday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m., the hills on the lawn of Marydell Faith and Life Center, 640 North Midland Avenue, Nyack, New York will come alive with the sound of beautiful music at STAR-FEST XIII. This concert will benefit One to One Learning, a non-profit community outreach program sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill dedicated to teaching English to immigrants. Volunteer teachers work with students in small groups, a hallmark of the program
STARFEST XIII will feature host and emcee, John Patrick “JP” Schutz, award winning cabaret and concert performer and his friends. Past performers have included Jan Lynch and Tommy Dunn, Sue Matsuki, Robert Mattern, Brian Walters, Rita Harvey and Patty Koontz. This year there will be a surprise short performance by the Phoenix Festival Theatre. Festivities continue after the concert with PICNIC SUPPER BOXES supplied by some of Rockland’s finest restaurants.

NR Youth Police Academy to begin mid-September

The North Rockland Youth Police Academy is scheduled to begin in mid-September.
If you are or know of a high school aged student, who lives in the Town of Haverstraw or in the Town of Stony Point, who would like to participate in the program please email Detective Spatta at rspatta@haverstrawpolice.org or call 845-354-8972 for more information.
Classes are primarily on Tuesday nights from 7pm-9pm for 10 weeks and are held at the Rockland County Police Academy in Pomona.
There is no cost for this program. The Class size is limited to 34 students.
