Valley Cottage Fire Dept. holds dinner celebrating 108 years of service
Valley Cottage Fire Dept held their annual Dinner commemorating 108 years of service. Great job by Chief Dennis Borelli and President David Dillon on running a great program.
The dinner recognized Robert BJ Johnson Jr., for his over twenty years of service ranging from firefighter to Chief.
Firefighter Ryan Ebner, who was injured and survived fighting a fire last year, was also honored.
The Department also presented helmet patches to four of the five probationary firefighters that joined the department and have completed the 140 hours of training.
Congratulations to all the other service award winners–thank you all for your years of selfless service!
India Cultural Society of Rockland celebrates Holi
Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann joined the Indian Cultural Society of Rockland for their annual celebration of Holi, otherwise known as the feast of colors or spring festival.
Great job by ICSR as they encourage community involvement and cultural appreciation.
Clarkstown Lions Club holds ‘Honoring Our Heroes’ ceremony
Clarkstown Lions Club held their annual awards ceremony “Honoring Our Heroes”.
Supervisor George Hoehmann was honored to be a recipient of one of their awards this year, along with several other dedicated volunteers, businesses (Buywise Liquor in Nanuet, and Decicco Family Market in New City) and not-for-profit (Bridges).

Leadership Rockland Government Day
Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann joined Stony Point Supervisor Jim Monaghan , Haverstraw Supervisor Howard T. Phillips, Jr., Orangetown Supervisor Teresa M. Kenny and Ramapo Supervisor Michael B. Specht at Clarkstown Town Hall for Leadership Rockland Government and Politics Day.
The Supervisors discussed the role of Town government and the issues each Town faces with Rockland’s emerging leaders.
The panel was coordinated by Councilman Frank Borelli. Congratulations to this year’s Leadership Rockland class!
