Nesting mother turtles are crossing Western Highway to lay their eggs before returning to the reservoir. This week, Supervisor Hoehmann thanked volunteers for their work to protect the migrating turtles.

This week, Supervisor Hoehmann celebrated all of the milestone birthdays with the Nanuet senior club. The milestone birthdays ranged from 75 to 98!! Congratulations and happy birthday to all!

This week the Town coordinated a DWI accident scene demonstration for Clarkstown North and South High School seniors. The demonstration was planned to raise awareness of drinking and driving as well as distracted driving.  The time between Memorial Day and Labor Day is known as the 100 deadliest days, with increased accidents involving young people. The demonstration provides students with a thorough dramatization of an accident scene.

Please be safe, make a plan, and don’t drink and drive.

This week is EMS week when we thank our brave paramedics, EMT’s and first responders for their service. In recognition of this important week, Supervisor Hoehmann attended the Annual Awards Ceremony at the Rockland County Fire Training Center. We are so fortunate to be served by the following corps in Clarkstown, Nanuet Community Ambulance Corps., New City Ambulance Corps, Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Spring Hill Ambulance & Medic, and Nyack Community Ambulance Corps as well as Rockland Paramedic Services. Congratulations to all who were recognized for their exceptional service. Thank you to all of our volunteers, EMT’s, paramedics and medical personnel for your selfless service to our community!
