The Parks & Recreation Office will be closed Saturday, December 31, 2022 and Monday, January 2, 2023. The four community centers will be open on Saturday, December 31st and will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023. Please call the centers to verify hours for December 31st.

This class is suitable for adults wanting to learn to sew clothing as well as someone who wants a refresher course. Students will be taught how to read and fit a commercial sewing pattern and construct a garment of their choice. Sewing machines will be provided for use or you can bring your own. Students will be taught appropriate techniques for successful completion of their garment. Students must bring a garment pattern of their choice and fabric will be discussed during the first class.
Eligible: Clarkstown residents ages 19 and older

Do you love music? Do you love to dance? Then this program is for you! A non-competitive class where we focus on exercise, warm ups and dancing. Learn how to count music and listen to the beat. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. No special dance attire required!

This class is perfect for people of all ages who want to focus on developing core stability and postural structural alignment and integrity. We will focus on understanding the six harmonies of movement and how this understanding is the fundamental principle in all movement arts. Classes will be a blend of seated and standing positions including Tai Chi walking exercises and basic Tai Chi Postures. All ages and abilities are welcome to join this educational and informative class.
