Clarkstown recognizes Knickerbocker Engine Company No. 1

Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann attended a celebration for the 160th Anniversary of the Knickerbocker Engine Company No. 1 and presented Chief Chris Ryan with a proclamation commemorating the event and recognizing the many years of dedicated service to Rockland Lake and the surrounding community.

The following members received awards for service Thomas Bierds 54 years; William Dauska 68 years; James Dillon 68 years; Robert Runge 46 years; William Venezia Jr 59 years; Anton Klecar 50 years and Chief Chris Ryan 32 years.

Thank you to all the members of the company past and present for your dedicated service to our community.

Clarkstown Military Banners

Do you have a loved one who has served or is currently serving in the military? Please consider joining us and honoring them with a military tribute banner.  

The banners will be displayed on the light posts in the various hamlet centers from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. The banners are a small way we can acknowledge the sacrifice many of our neighbors have made serving our community and our Country.  

The deadline to sponsor a banner is April 29, 2022. The cost to sponsor is $150. Click here to learn more.

Clarkstown’s Memorial Day Essay Scholarship

The Town of Clarkstown is proud to announce the annual Memorial Day Essay Scholarship Contest presented by Anchor Trading.

High School seniors are asked to write an essay describing “What Does Memorial Day Mean to You?” The award is a $5,000 scholarship and the winner will be announced at the annual Carry The Load Congers Rally to be held on May 2, 2022. 

Deadline to submit essays is April 22, 2022. Thank you to Sean Magee and Anchor Trading for sponsoring this generous scholarship!

Every year our Street Fair sells out with over 170 vendors! In October 2021, we attracted roughly 15,000 people and there is something for everyone!. We have had kid activities, great food, and live entertainment all day long. Check our photo and video gallery pages on this website and on our Facebook page to see and share in your comments.
NOTE! Our BOOTHS have SOLD OUT every year so be sure to register early for our 8th Annual Street Fair on Sunday, June 5th, 2022.
Our last Street Fair had numerous sponsors (see our 2021 Street Fair post for a listing) who help make this event a success and we hope you will do so again or consider becoming a sponsor for 2022.
The earlier you sponsor, the sooner you will be included on all advertising we do for the event. We have various levels of sponsorship for the Street Fair and all our events.

Networking event, award presentation April 26th

The Nanuet Chamber is sponsoring a free networking event with the award presentation at Banchetto Feast, Nanuet, on April 26 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Nanuet Chamber will provide an assortment of appetizers. Cash Bar.
