The right to quiet
Loud and persistent sound at all hours is a frequent complaint made by the citizens of Upper Nyack. Residents came to the Village Board, asking for relief. After three years of public meetings, panel discussions, and public hearings, a new local law has been passed regulating sound within the Village of Upper Nyack. Please review the text of the law for complete information here.

Complaints
To report a sound law complaint, please contact the Clarkstown Police at 845-639-5800.
Penalties
Offenses are punishable by a fine of $250 for the first offense and $500 for each subsequent offense in the same calendar year. Property owners, not the equipment operators, are cited for the violations.
A mailing about the law will be sent to every property in the Village and to every landscaper licensed in Rockland County.
