Nyack /ˈnaɪ.æk/ (About this soundlisten) is a village located primarily in the town of Orangetown in Rockland County, New York, United States. Incorporated in 1872, it retains a very small western section in Clarkstown. It is an outer suburb of New York City lying approximately 19 miles (31 km) north of the Manhattan boundary near the west bank of the Hudson River, situated north of South Nyack, east of Central Nyack, south of Upper Nyack, and southeast of Valley Cottage.

Village Hall & DPW will be closed in observance of the holiday. Trash will be collected on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Parking fees suspended for the holiday, alternate side rules remain in effect.

Celebrating the LGBTQ & Community!

Now in it’s 24th year, Rockland Pride Sunday is back in-person for a day filled with music, dancing, and PRIDE!

Join us on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 in downtown Nyack for this free, family-friendly event featuring the music of Frankie D and The Boys, David Budway and special guest performers, Drag Queens, the Crowning of Mx. Rockland County Pride, outdoor dining, shopping, vendors, and more!

Free children’s activities include bounce houses, face painting, and a family picnic area with arts and crafts.

‘Safe Routes to the Nyack Middle School’ meeting June 1st

Please consider attending a ZOOM meeting on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 7pm for a project discussion on the “Safe Routes to the Nyack Middle School” sidewalk project.

In brief, the most recent information provided to trustees from the design engineers presents a trade-off between fully funding the costs of restoring “amenities” such as hedges, fences and trees that will be impacted by sidewalk expansion (total cost around $200K) and options for reducing the scope of the project to offset this additional cost.

That is, in order to fund restoration work on about 50 properties, we need to defund certain parts of the sidewalk project. Your comments are most welcome.

The project will be workshopped again by the Village Board at 7pm on June 9, 2022 (an in-person meeting at Village Hall).

A Village Board vote needs to take place that night to advance the project to the next stage and to stay on course for construction in 2023. Public comment is welcome at this meeting.

This meeting offers another/final opportunity to voice your view for/against spending project money to restore fences and other amenities that residents have on the village right of way, and if you support this approach, which aspects of the project should be dropped to fund this restoration work.
