listen) is a village located primarily in the town of Orangetown in Rockland County, New York, United States. Incorporated in 1872, it retains a very small western section in Clarkstown. It is an outer suburb of New York City lying approximately 19 miles (31 km) north of the Manhattan boundary near the west bank of the Hudson River, situated north of South Nyack, east of Central Nyack, south of Upper Nyack, and southeast of Valley Cottage.

Ross Dailey lost his battle with a 9-11 related cancer on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. A life-long Nyack resident and longtime volunteer with the Nyack Ambulance Corp, we will remember Ross for his dedication and devotion to the Nyack community. Ross served as Water Commissioner for the Village of Nyack Water Department for over 20 years. Rest in Peace Ross, you will be dearly missed.

The Nyack Village Board of Trustees announces the appointment of Mr. James Slaughter as the new Village Administrator. Mr. Slaughter is a native of Pittsburgh, PA who has worked in the private and public sector in the New York Metropolitan Region. Mr. Slaughter has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Urban Studies and Masters in Public Administration. In addition, he has a Masters of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from Vermont Norwich College. Mr. Slaughter is excited to join the Village of Nyack and looks forward to his new adventure!
