Stony Point Board to meet October 12th

Skoufis Presents Tomkins Cove Library with $68,000 for Window Replacement
Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) presented the Tomkins Cove Public Library with a $68,000 grant to support replacement of the historic library’s upstairs windows, improving heat retention and general efficiency throughout the building.
Erected in the 1870s as the Tomkins Cove Union School–one of very few projects in the area to be constructed with its specific poured concrete method–the library required custom-designed windows to suit the historic nature of the building. Following the library’s previous installation of a new door and ground floor windows, this upstairs environmental upgrade will ensure generations of readers will continue to enjoy the library’s unique character.
“I’m thrilled to help the Tomkins Cove Library evolve their space with this funding,” said Senator Skoufis. “Library leadership has been working diligently to make improvements that support a better experience for local kids and families, and it’s my pleasure to help the library meet the needs of its community in the years ahead.”

Raja Amar Speaks on Letchworth Village plans at North Rockland Chamber of Commerce September Membership Meeting
The North Rockland Chamber of Commerce held its most recent membership breakfast on September 14th, 2021 at The Pancake Factory in Stony Point, NY.
The guest speaker, Raja Amar from Patriot Hills LLC – discussed at length his plans for development of the Stony Point portion of the Letchworth Village property, notably how the company would manage the operations and finances of the Patriot Hills Golf Course. Those plans are predicated on the results of a referendum on the proposed sale of the property, by the Town of Stony Point to Patriot Hills LLC, scheduled for vote on Nov 2, 2021.

The next North Rockland Chamber membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at Sonoma Grille, located on the Phillip J. Rotella Golf Course in Thiells, NY. Sign in for the breakfast begins at 7:45 am, and the meeting commence at 8 am, lasting until 9 am.
