Upper Nyack is a village incorporated in 1872 in the town of Clarkstown, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of the village of Nyack, east of Valley Cottage, south of Rockland Lake State Park, and west of the Hudson River. The population was 2,063 at the 2010 census.[3]
Upper Nyack has a Village Hall and a village law court, located in the same building on North Broadway. Upper Nyack is also home to the Empire Hook and Ladder Company No. 1, established in 1863, one of eight fire companies in the Nyack Joint Fire District.

Reminder to residents:
Local Law #9 of 2022 regulating Sound in the Village of Upper Nyack states that use of gas-powered leaf blowers is permitted from September 15th and through December 16th, as per section 4.C.i. below
Leaf Blowers: Gasoline-powered leaf blowers may be used only between March 15 through May 15, and September 15 through December 15. During the portions of the year when the use of gasoline powered leaf blowers is permitted, they may only be used from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays; and 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Sundays and Legal Holidays. The use of gasoline powered leaf blowers shall be prohibited at all other times. Electric and battery-powered leaf blowers are exempt from the date restrictions of this section but shall be subject to the hours of operation set forth in this section.

NOTICE
There will be NO PARKING allowed on the following streets on Friday, September 16th from 9-11 am AND – Saturday, September 17th from 8 am – Sunday, September 18th.
Lower Castle Heights, Ellen St, and Van Houten
The newly applied surface of the roads requires time to cure. Parking during the curing will damage the surface. As a reminder work is being done Friday morning and again on Saturday-Sunday
Work will commence at 6:00 AM until 4:00 PM or completed. There may be periods of time where the roads above will be shut down even to local traffic, which may affect side roads as well. The Village will do its best to allow local cars through when possible. Please plan accordingly.
