Tappan (/təˈpæn/ tə-PAN) is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Orangetown, Rockland County, New York. It is located northwest of Alpine, New Jersey, north of Northvale, New Jersey and Rockleigh, New Jersey, northeast of Old Tappan, New Jersey, east/southeast of Nauraushaun and Pearl River, south of Orangeburg, southwest of Sparkill, and west of Palisades; Tappan shares a border with each. The population was 6,613 at the 2010 census.
The Town of Orangetown invites residents to join them via Zoom to review progress and provide feedback on the future of the town. The meeting will take place virtually on Monday, October 18th from 7 to 8:30pm.
The Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan will dedicate a new memorial in remembrance of those lost on 9/11 on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 8:30am on the Tappan Green.
There will be a fundraiser to support the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) of Rockland on Saturday, July 10th from 5 to 10 pm at German Masonic Park in Tappan.
Saturday, July 3rd, 11am – 12pm This interactive family concert will feature vocalists Shirley Crabbe (2019 New York Bistro Award Winner) and Majella Maltempi (Finalist, 2021 Roger Rees Awards New Faces) performing with Tanya Witek (flute), Krystof Witek (violin) and Henry Sungho Yang (pianist).
